The recently completed expansion of West Woodland Elementary School stands as a significant milestone in addressing the evolving needs of the community. Originally established in 1910, the school underwent a transformative process in 1991, replacing its earlier structure. To accommodate the ongoing enrollment growth in the neighborhood, our completed project focused on enlarging the school’s footprint.
This comprehensive initiative involved the construction of a new approximately 28,000 square foot addition and the strategic remodeling of around 7,700 square feet of the existing building. The enhancements encompass 12 new classrooms, an expanded gymnasium, commons, and associated support and infrastructure spaces. Additionally, the existing school building underwent interior finish upgrades and improvements to technology and communication infrastructure, aligning it with modern educational standards.
Beyond the structural improvements, the project included thoughtful site work, introducing enhanced landscaping and play areas to enrich the overall environment. Practical considerations were addressed, such as the relocation of the loading dock and the addition of a 7-stall parking lot dedicated to staff. The West Woodland Elementary School expansion project is a testament to our commitment to creating dynamic and functional educational spaces that meet the needs of both students and educators alike.
